Why I Love Philly - First Fridays!!

I first attended First Fridays as a poor college freshman at Temple University. Not having a lot of recreational funds and having several artistic friends made this a great once a month outing. Revisiting this event years later offered a similar and more appreciative view on this great opportunity. This free event (unless you decide to purchase artwork) is a great experience for all ages, regardless of your tastes in artwork.

The Sugar House Casino opens today at 1pm on the Delaware river waterfront.


What are your thoughts on having a casino in Philly. Is this a good thing or a bad thing?


All we can say is that they did an amazing job on the waterfront. Make sure that you at least check it out, even if you are totally against it. The architecture is worth the trip, honestly.

Amazing Time at the Hero Thrill Show

I'm going to be dead honest. I had no idea what to expect from the Hero Thrill Show. I knew that it was a great cause, and the police and fire department demonstrations were fantastic. But when it came to putting mixed martial artists in that mix, to me, it was a total toss up.

Professional mixed martial artist Brylan Van ArtsDalen squared off with Swoop of the Philadelphia Eagles in a cage fight at the 2010 Philadelphia Hero Thrill Show. Brylan is main eventing Matrix Fights 3 at the Sheet Metal Union Hall on October 29th.

MMA in Philly: 2010 Hero Thrill Show

Fall 2010 is going to be awesome for Philadelphia's MMA scene. I'm really excited to get the fall kicked off this weekend with a show that's not even a cage fight.
