Master Gardener Anna Herman, comes to Greensgrow to help you make the most of your space and to plan your garden’s transition from season to season. Class will focus on planning for multiple harvests from the same growing bed by utilizing succession and interplanting techniques. Companion planting, crop rotation, soil health and best crops for small spaces will all be covered.
And we’ll give you strategies for maximizing a harvest from your small edible garden throughout the year. From using milk jug cloches to straw bale cold frames Anna will share practical strategies and proven techniques to extend your growing season.
Anna is owner of the Backyard Farm School where she teaches about gardening, cooking and urban farming. She is a long time backyard and community gardener, the coordinator of the Penn State Extension Philadelphia Master Gardener program, coordinator of the Morris Arboretum Community Gardens, and Culinary Director of The Farm Kitchen at Awbury Arbortetum.
