Event Description

We are happy to present "Cards, Scarves and Emotional Scars", a trunk show and craft demonstration featuring two local artists whose work addresses the sharper edges of love.

Sharif Pendleton is the creator of the "Emotions Can Be Dangerous" line of laser-cut jewelry. Its motifs combine Valentine hearts with implements of destruction. He will be screenprinting Valentine cards for lovers and haters alike.

Shera Simon, aka Shesherara, is working on "Love Him/Hate Him". It's a fashion-design-meets-Valentine project in which she asks women to send her a shirt belonging to a particularly loved or hated man. Shera will slice it up and transform it into her trademark "girlified gear", like a frilly scarf, flower pin or handbag. Whether it's done in the spirit of purging or praising the man, you can tell the story on Shera's blog. Bring one in for her to do in person.

Jonathan York will play live acoustic jazz guitar. Plus candy! Please join us Saturday, February 13, 12-3 pm.
