“The Usefulness of Use ” is a new exhibition on display at The Clay Studio created by artist Yoko Sekino Bove. Since the start of the pandemic, Yoko has been creating pieces that explore how art can connect us in spite of the virus forcing us to stay apart. Inspired by her background in graphic design and her interest in classic pottery forms, Yoko’s functional work shows how an object can connect the user to the artist in unexpected ways. She hopes to inspire comfort through her artwork by depicting objects used in common daily rituals, like pouring a cup of coffee or tea. This exhibition will be on display and feature artwork for sale at The Clay Studio’s Shop from December 4, 2020 to January 3, 2021. Virtual tours available by appointment.
