Party In The Front, Business In The Back

No, ladies I'm not talking about an alternative for the mullet. If you've got a flare for the dramatic or simply can't decide between a maxi and a mini, this season you're in for a sartorial treat.

Exhibit A - Tapered, asymmetrical, swoop, tail hem dresses. Call them what you will but one thing's for sure, dresses cut longer in the back, shorter in the front are all the rage this Summer. Think of them as a hybrid between a mini and a midi or a midi and a maxi. They're fun and sexy, concealing almost as much as they reveal. And trust me girls, there is no better way of updating your wardrobe.
Although, this trend has been gracing the runways for quite some time, finding comparable styles in the stores hasn't been easy. But after searching high and low I'm bringing you the best of the best of what's out there. From softly hued party dresses to animal prints, I've got you covered.

Flower Child

It's no secret that Boho-chic is one of my favorite styles. The dresses are always flowy and feminine, making imperfections nonexistent with their enchanting layers and subtle prints. For an earth sign like myself, I naturally gravitate to hippie inspired fashions.

For this reason I'm sharing the Jen's Pirate Booty Long Gauze Goddess Dress, first. Worn by the likes of Vanessa Hudgens, this ethereal silhouette is reminiscent of a flower and the lightness of the fabric will keep you cool during the sultry Summer months.

If you choose to buy just one tail hem dress this season, I recommend you make it this one. You can wear it with gladiator sandals during the day or dress it up with strappy heels and an over-sized clutch at night. I'm in love!

It's A Jungle Out There

Leopard is like a trend on steroids. You can't really miss it in magazines and in the stores. So, what do you do when you love leopard but you don't want to look like everyone else? I say, find new and create ways of incorporating animal prints into your wardrobe. The easiest way is to don a unique cut is in a form of this oh-so flattering tail hem Thayer maxi. They call it a maxi, but the front of this dress shows just enough skin to make it a day dress and transitional enough to make a statement in the evening. Want to add a pop of color, try wearing red lipstick with this ensemble.

9-5

No one ever said that working would be easy, but that doesn't mean that it can't be fun. Every morning when you get ready, you project to the world the you want to be perceived. Keeping up with the trends may not get you praise at work but it might just put a pep in your step. The kind you get when you look your absolute best.

Your attitude really does matter, so I found this softly hued stretch silk dress by Alice + Olivia that is sure to get you noticed. My favorite part about the dress are the dolman sleeves. This dress itself is both romantic and practical. Wear it to work or on a date. My suggestion is to wear it with a long strand of pears and fun colorful pumps.

Party Girl

You can always try this trend for a special occasion. Check out the gorgeous Plein Sud Pleated Dress. The color is magnificent and the cut is sexy and versatile since you can wear it as a dress or a maxi shirt. A fun outfit to try is to pair this dress with strappy open toe booties.

Casual And Loving It
Last but not least is my casual tail hem dress selection. If you like the rock star look, you will love the burnout cotton Appetite for Destruction dress by Evil Twin.
I chose this dress because it has an interesting solid back panel and an asymmetrical hem.
I simply adore the color and the beauty of this design is that you can wear it with your highest heels or your the-older-the-better Fiorentini + Baker boots and both will look fantastic.
I hope this post inspires you to indulge in something new but to also come out of your comfort zone. Tail hem is a great trend to take part in but you have to wear it with confidence and just have fun with it. If you come across interesting tail hem dresses please do share.

Happy Shopping Ladies!
