Lockout Or No Lockout, Michael Vick and Co. Make Plans To Stay On Same Page

Philadelphia Eagles 2010 pro bowl quarterback Michael Vick isn't going to allow a lockout to stop him from preparing for a super bowl run in 2011.

Regardless of the outcome of the CBA negotiations, Vick and some unnamed teammates have decided to continue working out together during the offseason according to ESPN's NFC East blogger Matt Mosley.

""Wherever we agree to be collectively. It may be Florida, it may be Hawaii. We'll get our work in," Vick explained. "Being on the same page, timing, which is very important. I think everybody has to be on one accord, all thinking the same. Practice and film study are important, but just familiarizing ourselves with each other, that's going to be big for us.""

The decision to go ahead with this plan is smart for obvious reasons but it also shows true leadership and the level of respect the players have for Vick in the Eagles locker room. He knows that his offense put up franchise record numbers in points (439) in just his first season as a starter for the Eagles and if the offense can remain on the same page through this time of negotiations, they are one step ahead of the rest of the league.

I'm assuming that this is going to become a trend, players all meeting at a specific location to continue with their offseason conditioning programs. While the lost time with team coaches and trainers, as well as not being able to use organization facilities will have an impact on overall progress all players know what they need to do in order to stay NFL ready.

If a player isn't 100 percent , has become overweight, or have gotten slower they only have themselves to blame. I know I see a lot of the Eagles players saying they are up and about to go "HAM", as linebacker Jamar Chaney likes to put it, in the early hours of the morning via their Twitter profiles. As a matter of fact Michael Vick's profile is one of the more regular saying he's about to go work out!

During a time of uncertainty, seeing Vick rally his teammates together to stay sharp is a very good sign of what his long term goal is—to win a super bowl.

At some point both the NFL and NFLPA will come to terms with each other and the game of football will pick back up and when it does Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles are going to be motivated and ready to make a solid push to reach their one goal that has eluded them for far to long.

Stay tuned toBleeding Eagle Greenas the where-abouts of the players meeting place becomes known and exactly what players will be involved.
