WURST BBQ

Philadelphians looking for some afternoon fun, delicious Oktoberfest fare and brews should head to Red Owl Tavern next Tuesday, September 26th, where Executive Chef Caitlin Mateo will host The Wurst BBQ! From 12-4pm, guests can sit outdoors in the shadows of history on one of America’s most historic intersections, across from Independence Hall, and enjoy a bevy of German-style sausages (wursts). Mateo and her team will serve a selection of sausages including bockwurst, knockwurst and bratwurst. $15 buys a copious platter of sausages, along with a side of German-style potato salad and spicy mustard. Red Owl Tavern is known for its robust beer program and for day-drinkers this Tuesday, the accomplished bar will not disappoint. Guests can enjoy Warsteiner Premium Oktoberfest ($7); Sam Adams Octoberfest ($8) and Hofbräuhaus Oktoberfestbier ($5).
