Special Women’s History Month Tours: “The Women of Woodford”

Tuesday, March 11, through Sunday, March 16

Guided tours available every hour from 10 am to 3 pm

 

Built as a summer retreat along the banks of the Schuylkill River, Woodford was home to many prominent Philadelphia families.  The women associated with Woodford played many roles and their stories are told through the impressive collection of portraits and antiques that fill the historic mansion.  Tour Woodford this week to hear about the lives and legends of the women of Woodford, including Hannah Coleman, Rebecca Franks, and Bilah Abigail Franks, as well as Naomi Wood, whose antiques collection fills the museum.

 

Guided tours only. Admission for a guided tour is $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for senior citizens, and $2 for children (ages 6-12).
