Event Description

The Head & The Hand Press, a new independent publishing company in Kensington, is releasing its inaugural publication, the Rust Belt Rising Almanac.

To celebrate the release of this publication, the whole Frankford Ave. neighborhood is coming together for this First Friday. Fourteen local businesses will be carrying the anthology, Almanac contributor Jeffrey Ziga of Little Baby’s Ice Cream will perform a reading atop their parklet, where they will be offering an Almanac-inspired ice cream flavor, and there will be a celebratory dance party at the Philadelphia Sculpture Gym’s beautifully renovated warehouse workspace at 9 p.m. with more Almanac readings and special guest DJ SnkPak.
