Event Description

There are hundreds of pieces of folk art from Mexico included in Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens. Some folk artists follow traditions taught by their parents or grandparents. They use traditional materials, like clay and straw. Others invent brand-new ways of using things thrown away by everyone else. Today’s craft is inspired by goods found in our favorite marketplaces in Mexico. We will use colorful snack bags, vinyl, and duct tape to make wallets you can take home.

Tour PMG’s fully mosaicked basement at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30 p.m. Learn about some of the special folk art at PMG.
