Event Description

Object Lesson is a collaborative exhibition meant to highlight the outstanding art of Richard Benson, an influential photographer and printmaker. Benson worked as an educator at the Yale School of Art and made revolutionary innovations in the techniques and philosophy of printing and reproduction. The TILT Institute for the Contemporary Image (TILT), in partnership with the Aperture Foundation, is proud to host an exhibition dedicated to Richard Benson, displaying some of his rare publications alongside the art of thirty-five artists influenced by his work. Through the collection, audiences can “take inspiration from Benson’s wit and wisdom” and learn just how he revolutionized art in photography and printing.
