Mural Arts Philadelphia Monument Lab Summer Sampler

On Saturday, July 1, Mural Arts Philadelphia gives the first glimpse of Monument Lab, featuring a sneak preview of Philadelphia artist Kara Crombie’s monument, Sample Philly: an interactive sculpture with a sound bank of musical loops drawn from the city's rich musical history. Enjoy live music and refreshments, and chat one-on-one with the artist and curators in Franklin Square. Nine weeks, 10 sites, 21 artists, and one central question: What is your vision for a monument that represents Philadelphia? Monument Lab is a public art and history project produced by Mural Arts Philadelphia and curators Paul Farber and Ken Lum that invites people to join a citywide conversation about history, memory, and our collective future.
