Event Description

Learn the art of making a traditional Buddhist rosary. Buddhist rosaries, called “malas,” are used during the practice of mantra recitation. Mantra is a Sanskrit word meaning “mind protection.” Reciting mantras protects us from negative states of mind, drawing us closer to Buddha’s good qualities and allowing us to be more calm and peaceful. Learn the beading techniques to make a traditional Buddhist mala and begin your practice of mantra recitation. The mala you make is yours to keep!

$40. All beads and supplies will be provided. **Please pre-register on our website by March 7th.**

Taught by Meditation Teacher, Eve Miller. Eve is a senior student at Amitayus Kadampa Buddhist Center and she has over 15 years of experience as a meditator and teacher. She is an avid beader, knitter, crafter, shrine maker & mala maker.
