Event Description

Learn to use plants to produce natural dyes.  Elissa Meyers and Mira Adornetto ofBLUEREDYELLOW will lead a two-part workshop about natural dyeing.  The series starts with a hike to identify and collect plants.  On day two we’ll talk about the history of these plants and dye fabrics with the collected material.  Bring a lunch on Saturday.  Pre-registration required.

Participants will take away worksheets, samples, and a silk scarf dyed with the plants collected on the hike.

Two part course:
Friday, July 17, Foraging Hike | 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Saturday, July 18, Dyeing Workshop | 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

$20 Hike only, $60 Workshop.  Both sessions: $75.  Register online now.

At this foraging hike:
We’ll learn all about how to identify common dye plants and when and how to collect them, plus, we’ll gather material to use on Saturday.
