"Using the Sun to Find North” is one of the chief ways people navigate when they find themselves disoriented and with no compass or map. This exhibition, by The Clay Studio Resident Artist Alumni Lisa Naples, includes series that explore this theme. One of the series featured, “Wayfinding” uses a collection of plates to track the progress of a fallen red-tailed hawk, as she faces choices that will determine the quality of her last days. Naples also uses stop-frame locomotion in “Impermanence,” which explores the static, and ever-changing way of life. The exhibition will be on display at The Clay Studio’s Gallery from October 2nd – November 15th and will be available to view online in its entirety during that time. If you are interested in a more in-depth look at the exhibition, visit The Clay Studio’s website, where you can reserve a spot in a limited number of safe, socially distant, private gallery tours, led by Lisa Naples.
