Event Description

In this one-day intensive workshop, students will experience Islamic papermaking first hand and gain insight into the history and culture behind these beautifully multicolored, smooth, burnished sheets. Learning to dye dried sheets, apply surface sizing, and burnishing, participants will take home a selection of authentic Islamic papers made during the workshop. All necessary materials and supplies are provided.
