Event Description

This much-anticipated event is not only a fabulous social happening but also a showcase for exceptional contemporary art featuring work from the emerging to the established. Most importantly of course, this benefit event is the major annual fundraiser for InLiquid, which supports and promotes visual artists while serving as a comprehensive hub and catalyst for our region’s arts community.

The Benefit returns to the Icebox Project Space at Crane Arts, where the first floor space will be transformed into a three-day only showcase of 250+ works by emerging and established artists.

The theme for the weekend is Press Bid to Play, celebrating InLiquid’s third year of revolutionizing the local art auction sphere through a virtual transformation, in which guests will reboot their collections and experience a crash-course in visual mediums. Painting, photography, fashion, furniture, and more will be available via mobile bidding platform 501 Auctions, where works at every price point are just a smartphone click away. Throughout the evening, tablet-wielding concierges will be on-hand to assist the audience with their purchasing questions.

The Main Night: Saturday, February 6

VIP

4:30 – 6 pm
Saturday night, February 6 kicks the experience into high gear with a VIP preview from 4:30 – 6 pm, offering a more intimate and formal occasion to preview the art and items on display. The immersive, interactive art collecting experience overtakes three rooms, including The Love Lounge designed by Bryan Hoffman Design and accented with Mid-Century Furniture Warehouse, which opens the nightsky up to an urban oasis. The VIP ticket price is $85 in advance, $100 at the door and includes a special performance by Laurent Bass.

General Admission

6 – 10 pm
The Main Event opens the bidding rooms up to the general public 6 – 10 pm. Participants will be ushered into the Grey Area, where catered selections circulate in three stages over the course of the event and an array of gift certificates from local boutiques and restaurants will beckon attendees onward into the thrill of the hunt. Bidding wars will heat up in the Icebox Project Space, approximately 4,500 square feet of labyrinthine two-and-three dimensional art displays, with furniture provided by Mid-Century Furniture Warehouse.

Vie for work by artists at all levels – from local to international – including Shepard Fairey, Jacque Liu, Jon Manteau, and Diane Burko, just to name a few. Lori Zimmer – Art Nerd New York blogger and author of The Art of Cardboard – guest-curates a selection of work from NYC, recoding the other east coast city for Philadelphia audiences. Recharge with Tito’s Handmade cocktails or Philadelphia Brewing Company’s cider and beer at the open bar, along with tasty hors d’oeuvres from Birchtree Catering. The Main Event ticket price is $50 in advance, $65 at the door and includes a live ice carving demonstration by Roger Wing.
