Event Description

For the Ides of March, we are having a wine tasting.  Et tu, Brute?

In honor of that fateful day in 44 BC when Julius Ceasar was stabbed to death, we will taste wines from countries within the geographical extent of the    Roman Republic - those areas under Roman control at the time of Ceasar's death.  These include the modern place-names of Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Slovenia, Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Palestine, and Jordan, as well as the entire Mediterranean coast of North Africa. A wine-producing republic, indeed!

Ancient Romans would celebrate the god of War and Agriculture, Mars, on the the Ides of March.  We shall do the same by celebrating the viticulture (lets skip the warfare) of that vast and fertile Republic.

Okay, technically speaking the Ides of March were on the 15th in the Roman calendar (13th for some other months), but we are taking poetic license.
5 wines, plus snacks, $25 AND 15% off your bar tab after the class.

Space is limited! so reserve yours now.
