When things go wrong in our life and we encounter difficult situations, we tend to regard the situation itself as our problem, but in reality whatever problems we experience come from the side of the mind. If we responded to difficult situations with a positive or peaceful mind they would not be problems for us. Eventually, we might even regard them as challenges or opportunities for growth and development. In this course we will learn the time-tested methods taught by Buddha for improving our patience, and how to practically apply those methods to our daily life. Come learn how the practice of patience can bring peace and harmony to your life and your relationships. Everyone is welcome.
This course will be taught by Gen Tenzin, with meditations led by Julie Francisco. Gen Tenzin is a Buddhist monk of over 17 years and has taught Kadampa Buddhism extensively for over 18 years in California, Connecticut, Vermont, Maine, New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. As a senior Kadampa student and teacher, he is a close disciple of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. He has a great depth of understanding of the teachings and is skillful in his presentation by sharing them in an entertaining, approachable, and kind-hearted manner.
