The holidays can be a bittersweet time of year. For many, it’s a time of reuniting with family and friends and looking back at a hopefully busy and fruitful year. For others it can be a far lonelier occasion.

Sadly, freelancers and consultants are often left out in the cold because they have no definitive home base; they fly no single flag. And an "office party for one" just doesn't quite ring of holiday cheer.

Well, a few of us thought that now would be as good a time as any to beat the loneliness and celebrate the holiday season together with a fête of epic proportions.
