Beginner Tuesday Night Modern Dance Classes

Learn and experience modern dance technique in a weekly Tuesday night class  designed specifically for beginner students. Anatomically focused warm up leads into dynamic across the floor movement featuring phrase work, turns and jumps! Choreographer, Alie Vidich, will lead you through an exploration of dance that engages your mind and body on a weekly basis! Movement style is modern dance based inspired by Limon technique, release technique and Alie’s background as a site- specific choreographer.

Alie Vidich, is the Artistic & Executive Director of INVISIBLE RIVER, a non-profit organization that creates and leads live events on the Schuylkill River in Fairmount Park, using art and dynamic programming to build stewardship for the river and the park.  She has been producing live performance since 2005 and on Philadelphia’s Schuylkill River since 2010. She is known for creating artistically daring work and the William Penn Foundation, The Leeway Foundation, the Puffin Foundation and Stary Browar Nowy Taniec’s Philadelphia/Poland Dance Exchange program have recognized Alie’s work with INVISIBLE RIVER. She received a Dance USA Philadelphia Rocky Award from Leah Stein of Leah Stein Dance Company in 2012 for her contributions to the Philadelphia dance community. Alie has taught dance to children, teens and adults and continues to share dance as an art form through an active teaching practice. She received a BFA in Dance from Rutgers University.

No previous dance experience is necessary – class is for Beginner Adult students but all are welcome to attend.
