his is the best time of year to start raising chicks so they reach maturity by next winter. Join Marianne Morrison as she walks you through the ups and downs of raising chickens in Philadelphia. Marianne has been raising chickens most of her life and worked with the aviary team at the Philadelphia Zoo.
Learn from our expert how to care for chickens from chick, to pullet, to egg laying hen. We'll discuss the characteristics and egg productivity of various breeds, the importance of a clean and harmonic environment for your flock, housing in a four season climate, as well as the pests and predators that you may encounter with a flock.
