Event Description

The COLOURS Organization, Inc in collaboration with AAMP invite you to this night of color, creativity, costuming – and care! – as we present the “A Night on Broadway” Mini Ball! Inspired by the individuals, houses and balls that Gerard Gaskin captures through the lens of his camera in Legendary: Inside the House Ballroom Scene, this event invites both insiders and curious newcomers to participate (as a witness or competitor) in a night that is part fashion show, part dance battle, and entirely fun filled.

Between 6 and 8pm, explore Gaskin’s photographs of ballroom culture in Philadelphia, New York and beyond in our current exhibit, and take the opportunity to know your status and get tested for syphilis and HIV/AIDS. At 8pm, we take it up a notch as the competition begins, with categories for Team Runway, Female Figure Face, Male Figure Realness, Hand Performance, and Performance all inspired by Broadway hits and classics!

Seating will be limited – arrive early to claim your spot.

$10 General Admission. $5 Admission for those who get tested at the event.

All proceeds benefit The COLOURS Organization, INC and The African American Museum in Philadelphia.
