100 Things to do in Philly + Events + Philadelphia Deals & more!

As with most things in life, Fashion is cyclical. Trends come and go, only to come back again. This should be no surprise to the many fashion hoarders out there. After all, what better way to shop than in your own closet? I use the term fashion hoarder loosely because in thinking about my own closet, I have to admit that I totally fit the bill.

I am always on the lookout for timeless pieces to add to my collection but parting with any of my old gems has proven to be very difficult. And in case you were wondering if you fit the description, try answering the following question:  Do you consider the act of discarding clothes a sacrilege? If so, it is safe to say that you are also guilty as charged.

There is a fine line between senseless shopping that leads to hoarding and shameless fashion hoarding. Fashion hoarders in my opinion, are often ahead of the game. For them taking part in reemerging trends is a matter of digging through their closets. A perfect example of this are the wild at heart Animal Prints that are a true must-have for the moment.

This trend has never been latent for long, one version or another appeared in the stores throughout the years. But according to this Spring's forecast, animal prints will be more prominent than ever. A fashion craze like this enables everyone to participate. Many will dust off their coveted leopard pieces and others will draw inspiration in a form of new indulgences. Here are my "wild" temptations that are easy to incorporate into any wardrobe. For those of you who happen to own any variation of what I am about to discuss, my suggestion is to try to wear something old in a new and unexpected way.

These Are Not Your Mother's "Kitten" Heels

It is impossible to buy everything that you see, so use your discretion. But, if you buyjustoneanimal print item this season, make it the leopard pumps. This design packs a punchandgoes universally well with any solid color.  Just stay away from clashingprintsunlessintendedby the designer.

My favorite shoe this season is the YSL 'Tribtoo' Pumps. However, their price is as steep as the height of theheel. But luckily, due to the popularity of this trend you can find a great pair of animal print shoes that are perfect for any budget; just don't limit yourself totraditional patterns. As you can see, leopard prints also come in taupe, like these Casadei's to the right andput a glamorous touch to any outfit. I recommend finding a pair with an interesting texture to compliment your look.

White Belt, Green Belt, Leopard Belt

To help accentuate your natural waist, recruit the help of a leopard print belt. This accessory will not only bring out your wild side, but will ensure that you do so in a subtle and stylish way. Nothing says "I've updated my wardrobe" like a little touch of thejungle. You don't have to spend an arm and a leg, but definitely look for a belt that is of good quality. For this item, there is also no need to splurge on the higher end designer labels.

Address The Dress

If you are tired of your existing clothes, one way to add a unique twist is to add a little leopard dress to the mix. There are so many to choose from. My first rule is to establish a budget, since this is not something that can wear everyday. To make you life easier here are some fabulous options that I have selected.

In A Clutch

Another option for taking an outfit from drab to fab is by investing in a small animal print clutch. Just like the shoes, a clutch will get a lot of wear if you style it around solid colors. Bright greens and pinks look fantastic with a little leopard accent. Just think of the scarves that are in stores today.

Leopard Marks

While we're on the subject of scarves, leopard prints look especially chic when they draw attention to your face. If animal print attire is a bit of a risk for you, investing in a leopard print accessory, like a scarf, is the perfect solution. Scarves also tend to be less expensive than other accessories like shoes and bags, but they definitely add the same dramatic effect to your look.

And remember ladies, leopard has a big visual impact. A little of it looks sophisticated and professional but do not wear more than one leopard piece at a time, as it is most tasteful as an accent print. With that being said, enjoy animal prints and happy shopping!
