100 Things to do in Philly + Events + Philadelphia Deals & more!
"I want to start in 2011", it's a very short and open comment Philadelphia Eagles backup quarterback Kevin Kolb said in an interview following the wildcard playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Does he have wait it takes to be a starter in the NFL? He definitely believes so and it is completely within reason to think that there are organizations who might think so also.
There are currently four teams who could absolutely benefit from having Kolb on their roster, three of which are from the much weaker NFC West division.
He could thrive in any of these teams but I'm going to think outside the box for a second and mention a team that is going through a QB controversy of their own.
How does Kevin Kolb to the Tennessee Titans sound?
Currently their starting quarterback is Kerry Collins who did come out of no where in 2008 to take the Titans into the post season.
However Collins is an aging and average quarterback at best so the Titans front office, minus Jeff Fisher, could be looking at Kevin Kolb as a potential starter for them in 2011.
The even bigger question is not where Kevin Kolb will land but how much should the Eagles expect to get in return for him?
B/R Bob Cunningham wrote a piece today explaining that there is a potential Eagles fans could be disappointed at the return rate for Kolb.
I completely agree with Bob's assesment and to take that a step further, I think Kevin stock value decreased after the league witnessed his struggles. Is he coachable? Most people think so but here's a spin to that.
Since Kolb was drafted by the Eagles, there have been three Pro Bowl caliber quarterbacks at his disposal to obsorb as much as he could from.
Donovan McNabb, Michael Vick, and lets not forget about Jeff Garcia all were mentors to Kevin Kolb at some point in his young career. More than most quarterbacks coming into the league will ever see.
Has he become spoiled, time will tell.
