Arizona Cardinals Larry Fitzgerald Seeks Eagles Backup Quarterback Kevin Kolb

Philadelphia Eagles backup quarterback Kevin Kolb might just have his prayers answered. It is being reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter that reports from the Cardinals front office has asked the star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald for his advice on the current QB situation in Arizona.

According to the report, Fitzgerald’s “first recommendation” was that the Cardinals executives make a push to acquire Kolb in a trade. Fitzgerald, is entering the final year of his contract, and there is no question the Cardinals front office wants to keep him in Arizona and to keep him a happy man.

With only seven starts in his career, most people believed that Kolb's stock was "over-valued" by Philadelphia fans but with this recent report, is it possible that Kolb might just be more of an assett than most give him credit to be?

It appears as if there Kevin is going to be a hot ticket this offseason and the Eagles front office will most likely receive many offers from teams around the league who are in need of a sound signal caller. Many are saying that even with more veteran players like Donovan McNabb on the market Kolb's stock should remain high due to his age and talent compared to some of the other players.

If this report turn into an actual offer, what is Kolb's worth? Does the fact that he would be coming from a team of the Eagles caliber increase his trade value? Even more, does the fact that a player like Larry Fitzgerald input for the Cardinals is to pursue Kolb increase his value?

I've seen discussions saying he is worth a first round and more. Others are saying the Eagles will be lucky to receive a first round pick for him at all, saying the more likely payout would be a second round pick combined with either a player or later round pick.

Only time will tell but head coach Andy Reid has gone public to said he would love to retain both Michael Vick and Kevin Kolb for the 2011 season. However, the Eagles need some more draft picks to either couple with existing picks or players and picks to move up in the first and draft a star studded cornerback or Offensive Tackle.
