Lavishly renovated The Prince Theater 1412 Chestnut Street will re-open in March with a special presentation of the provocative and controversial new Hip Hop musical "The LAST JIMMY!" featured in four shows March 18,19, 20, 21. This powerful indictment of the for-profit mass incarceration industry which disproportionately targets Blacks, Hispanics and poor whites, is particularly relevant coinciding with the dramatic drop in arrest rates since the decriminalization of marijuana in Philadelphia.
“The Last Jimmy” was created by 5 time Grammy nominated rapper Dice Raw, inspired by Dr. Michelle Alexander’s book, The New Jim Crow and features original music and lyrics by Dice Raw -- the principal writer, producer and rapper for The Roots -- along with original choreography by Rennie Harris, directed by the noted Ozzie Jones and written by Phillip S. Brown.
Tickets for all shows are available at www.Ticketfly.com
