Sugar Jaws: Reverie

“Reverie” is a new exhibition on display at The Clay Studio by artist team Sugar Jaws. Sugar Jaws is an ongoing collaboration between artists Grace Tessein and Dennis Ritter. Owing its namesake to Dennis and Grace’s beloved dog, Sugar Jaws is a playful tangent from sculptural practice through which beautiful animal-inspired ceramic pieces are created. “Reverie,” is an exquisite display of the artistic relationship between Dennis and Grace, as Dennis creates the form of the pieces, and Grace illustrates the intricate designs. The Sugar Jaws team, both alumni of The Clay Studio, employ a variety of vintage-inspired patterns and floral designs paired with animal imagery in their pottery to adorn handbuilt, functional wares for the everyday. The exhibition will be on display at The Clay Studio’s Gallery from November 6^th - 29^th.
