The New York staple "Joe Coffee" is opening its doors for the first time on Philly soil. Located at 18th and Walnut, Joe has been heralded by Food & Wine as one the best coffee bars in the U.S. It will be interesting to see how us La Colombe loyalists react to the new guy in town.
One area that Joe does outdo La Colobme is in their "extracurriculars" as I like to call it. On top of one of the best cups of coffee in the Apple, Joe offers up catering services as well as actual coffee classes. Here, you can learn everything from how to make a simple hand-poured cup to the theory of milk steaming. Not bad for what started out as a mom-and-pop coffee shop.
