The Schuylkill Valley Regional Dance Company will be showcasing its diversity in the original work, “Jazzerella”, written and directed by Artistic Director Michelle Jones Wurtz. The show is fun for the entire family with choreography that includes ballet from former Kirov Principals Andrei Ustinov and Elena Martinson, tap, jazz, modern dance, Irish Dance, African Dance, and some Latin moments from International Dance Artist, Ms. Wurtz; and the expertise of Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet trained instructor, Diane Alex-Brody.
After closing the 2011 Season with a near sold out performance of “The Nutcracker”, SVRDC is opening the 2012 Season with a work for dancers and non-dancers alike. The storyline is humorous, the music and choreography diverse, and the dancers range in age from seven to seventy-nine. Like the circus, this show is fun for children of all ages.
