The Friends of Rittenhouse Square will honor Earth Day by hosting an open community clean up initiative in Philadelphia’s most historic public park, Rittenhouse Square. Volunteers will be given supplies to remove trash. As a special thank you to those who come out to help, volunteers will be treated to free giveaways, including free frozen custard from Shake Shack, located on 20th and Sansom Streets, and free macaroons from Sofitel Philadelphia.
Earth Day has been celebrated since 1970, and marks a day of community involvement and beautification. Rittenhouse Square is one of the city’s most celebrated public parks, and welcomes neighbors from around Philadelphia to participate in this day of civic engagement, keeping the park beautiful for the community to enjoy. Hosted by the Friends of Rittenhouse Square, this cleanup will be open to everyone. Those who wish to register can contact info@friendsofrittenhouse.org for more information. Registration is not required.
