Event Description

Friends Of Beast is an officially registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, created in honor of Christopher "Beast" Gedraitis, who passed away unexpectedly at the age of 31 from an undiagnosed heart condition. Despite having no children of his own, Beast often volunteered his time to help out with children's sports teams in his neighborhood. The idea behind the "Beast Day" fundraiser was that although Beast was no longer here to help out those kids, those that knew Beast could come together to celebrate his life and raise money for a worthwhile cause that was close to his heart: youth athletic programs in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas.
This year's Beast Day event will be held Saturday, February 7 from 5-9pm at the McFadden's Irish Pub & Johnny Utah's Saloon complex on 3rd Street in Northern Liberties. Tix are $25 at the door, and include beer, wine, food, and soft drinks. Entertainment includes multiple DJs, live music from Michael Anthony Thompson, Laura Lea, and longtime area favorite The Rockets, photo booths, mechanical bull, and an amazing auction.
Through the kindness and generosity of our sponsors, donors, promotional partners, volunteers, and attendees, our event continues to grow. We can now expect from 400-500 people, including local notables, to come out for the event. Since our inception, The Friends Of Beast Foundation has raised over $150,000 for youth athletic programs in Philadelphia and South Jersey. It is our belief that we are the largest grassroots charitable organization to benefit a wide variety of athletic programs for both able-bodied and disabled children in the Philadelphia metropolitan and suburban areas.
