Event Description

Be an H2O-ologist With Natural Lands Trust

From big oceans to trickling creeks, our planet holds more H2O than anything else! We need water to cook, wash, drink, and more. Kids will don a scientist’s lab coat and explore how water impacts people and animals of the Delaware River through hands-on activities and fun learning experiences.

Natural Lands Trust is pleased to be a part of the Philadelphia Science Festival with this family-friendly event. We join a host of partners in a community-wide celebration of science, providing  opportunities for all Philadelphians to positively engage with and build a community around science, engineering, and technology.

The half-acre Pier 68, located at the end of Pier 70 Boulevard at the Delaware River, provides a place to relax and enjoy distinctive views of the city skyline, land to learn about tidal ecology of the Delaware River, and room for recreational fishing and public gathering. It’s the perfect place to discover nature thriving in a bustling urban environment.

Event is free. Registration encouraged. Please submit the on-line registration form to let us know you are coming, or call 610-353-5587 ext. 221. (This registration is with Natural Lands Trust only, not for the Philadelphia Science Festival.)

Join us as we showcase our efforts to help the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation fulfill its vision of a revitalized riverfront. In the last five years, Natural Lands Trust has worked with the DRWC and others to preserve more than 420 acres in Philadelphia, helping to ensure open space access to urban residents and visitors.
