Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture presents an evening of music with international artists in performance with the renowned Al-Bustan Takht Ensemble. Featuring Lebanese vocalist Oumeima El Khalil and Puerto Rican percussionist Rolando Morales-Matos, the concert will be an innovative and lively musical collaboration that crosses borders, genres, and traditions.
Known for her command of traditional and contemporary Arabic repertoire, Oumeima El Khalil travels from Lebanon for a week of rehearsals and public engagements leading up to the main concert event. Puerto Rican percussionist Rolando Morales-Matos travels from New York City to bring his energetic mastery of Latin rhythms and contemporary jazz to this remarkable musical collaboration.
