 ervation organizations in Germantown, Chinatown, Chestnut Hill, and Ca
 llowhill. Branching out from elite to ethnic enclaves of the city, the
  nonprofit amassed allies and adversaries in rehabilitation, redevelop
 ment, and reuse of historic fabric, especially viaducts and stations a
 bandoned by transportation authorities and companies. During the onlin
 e presentation, Fallon Samuels Aidoo, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of R
 eal Estate Development & Historic Preservation at Tulane University Sc
 hool of Architecture, will examine patronage underwriting diversity an
 d inclusion in historic preservation, past and present.\n \nThe event
  is part of the Carpenters' Company of Philadelphia's \"Changing the F
 ace of the City,\" a series of programs and events that explore the in
 tersection of historic preservation and urban planning/renewal through
  the lens of equity and social justice. Renowned urban planner Edmund
  Bacon used the phrase \"Changing the Face of the City\" to describe 
 Philadelphia's renaissance in his classic 1967 book \"Design of Citie
 s,\" unintentionally alluding to the literal consequences of many pres
