 d Al Farraji is an Iraqi-American artist and calligrapher based in Phi
 ladelphia. Abdulkarim is one of the collaborators of the Friends, Pea
 ce, and Sanctuary project by Swarthmore College. Many of his calligra
 phy artworks are on display in Philadelphia and New York. One of his m
 ost visible and remarkable projects is the mural Light of the Northea
 st, a collaboration with artist Paul Santoleri, which was organized b
