DESCRIPTION:The Clay Studio presents a special In Memoriam exhibition 
 in honor of the late mixed-media artist Leroy Johnson (1937-2022). A n
 ative of Philadelphia, Johnson’s work was poetic and reflective of h
 is many experiences in the inner city and took the form of painting, c
 ollage, and assemblage sculpture. Johnson’s In Memoriam exhibition w
 ill be on display in the Jill Bonovitz Gallery from October 13 to Dece
 mber 31, 2022.\n \nJohnson received a Masters of Human Services from 
 Lincoln University in 1988 and was a 2014 Pew Fellow at The Pew Center
  for Arts and Heritage. His work was widely exhibited, with solo shows
  at Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens, Tirza Yalon Kolton Ceramic Gallery
  in Tel Aviv, and Camden County Historical Society. Additionally, John
 son was a participating or resident artist for several community-based
  arts projects, including The Village of Arts and Humanities, Taller P
 uertorriqueño, and The Church of the Advocate, St. Francis Academy in
  Baltimore, Maryland. Most recently, Johnson was selected for the 77th
  Juried Exhibition at Woodmere Art Museum, included in the #WE HAVE NO
  PRESIDENT exhibition at Marginal Utility, and was the inaugural resid
 ent artist at the Art Barn in Amaranth, PA.\n\nFor more information vi
