SUMMARY:Kick the Keg in Heels II
DESCRIPTION:Red Owl Tavern will celebrate its second anniversary on Th
ursday, October 30, from 6pm {until whatever time the keg is kicked} w
ith Kick the Keg in Heels II—a fun Saison de Rose beer-infused party
that celebrates the successes of the locally brewed charity beer and
features the cuisine, cocktails, and the craft beer program of Red Owl
Tavern while wrapping Breast Cancer Awareness Month.\n Think of it as
a wrap party for Saison de Rose — the special craft brew from Free
Will Brewing benefiting the University of Pennsylvania’s Rena Rowan
Breast Center — and the whole city is invited.\n \nFor a nominal $
5 donation, from 6-7pm, party goers get one hour of complimentary Sais
on de Rose beer, rose wine, or Red Own Tavern’s own Hibiscus Fizz co
cktail, along with passed and stationery {anti-oxidant infused} hors d
’oeuvres. From 7pm, on the restaurant’s mezzanine level, the bever
ages will be just $5 with $1 going to the Rena Rowan Center.\n \nAddi
tionally, guests will enjoy a silent auction with generously donated p
rizes, an opportunity to met the brewers and members of the Saison de
Rose committee, and an opportunity to give nod to this great cause one
last time before the month is over. Guests will enjoy photo ops with
Philly Chit Chat, a brief check presentation from Free Will to the Cen
ter, and additional fun, food, and beverage.\n \nFor the second year
in a row, prominent women of Philadelphia beer and beverage have come
together to consult on Saison de Rose: Erin Wallace, owner of Barren H
ill Tavern & Brewery, Old Eagle Tavern, and Devil’s Den; Marnie Old,
sommelier/beverage expert and author; Tara Nurin, beer, beverage, and
food expert and writer; and Carolyn “The Beer Fox” Smagalski, bee
r blogger, writer, and expert.\n \n“We’re really excited to bring
the Kick the Keg wrap party back to Red Owl Tavern,” says General M
anager Natalie Pineda. “Contributing to such an awesome cause is rea
lly an honor, especially when you see the grass-roots results on an in
divudal level. We hope everyone comes out, donates what they can, enjo
ys themselves, and maybe goes home with a great silent auction item or
