SUMMARY:ional Liberty Museum presents Voices and Votes: The State of F
 ree Speech After the Election
DESCRIPTION:In a time when the boundaries of speech and expression are
constantly tested by political, technological, and societal changes,
it is essential that we build our understanding of these fundamental r
ights and think about what’s at stake in the years to come. The Nati
onal Liberty Museum hosts a panel of free speech experts to discuss th
e most pressing challenges and emerging threats that shape the discour
se around free speech in the United States. Reflecting on recent free
speech controversies and the course and results of the 2024 presidenti
al election, panelists will consider the future of free speech in our
democracy and how we can work together to cultivate a society that val
ues open dialogue and the exchange of diverse perspectives.\nThe panel
features Summer Lopez, Interim Co-CEO and Chief Program Officer of Fr
ee Expression at PEN America, Aaron Terr, Director of Public Advocacy
at FIRE (Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression), and Ben Wiz
ner, Director of the Speech, Privacy, and Technology Project at the AC
LU (American Civil Liberties Union).\n\nFor more information visit htt
