DESCRIPTION:Historic Philadelphia, Inc. announces a brand new holiday 
 nighttime light show to debut in Franklin Square for the 2013 holiday 
 season. Franklin Squareâ€™s Electrical Spectacle: A Holiday Light Show
  is a new tradition for the holidays sparked by Benjamin Franklinâ€™s 
 imagination and will be the key to fun in Franklin Square this season.
  Funded by a grant from the William Penn Foundation, the Show will bri
 ng visitors to Franklin Square throughout November and December to exp
 erience one of Philadelphiaâ€™s most popular public spaces.Â  Providin
 g an original twist on typical holiday light shows, Franklin Squareâ€™
 s Electrical Spectacle is designed specifically for the Franklin Squar
 e space, incorporating an electric 10-foot tall kite and key, highligh
 ting Benjamin Franklinâ€™s famous electricity discovery in his namesak
 e Square, and thousands of lights programmed to winter-themed music.Â 
 \nÂ \nWinter time fun will envelop all of Franklin Square to celebrate
  the holiday season from November 14 â€“ December 31, culminating in t
 he traditional family-friendly New Yearâ€™s Eve celebration.Â  Other a
 dditions to the season will be holiday music playing on the Parx Liber
 ty Carousel, warming stations in Philly Mini Golf and at SquareBurger,
  and seasonal fare from STARR Restaurants to warm up at SquareBurger.Â
   The centerpiece attraction will be Franklin Squareâ€™s Electrical Sp
 ectacle: A Holiday Light Show, the free light show that will illuminat
 e the Square nightly.Â  The Squareâ€™s general nighttime lighting will
  begin at 4 pm, with the first showing of Franklin Squareâ€™s Electric
 al Spectacle igniting at 4:30 pm. The light show will create holiday m
 agic in the Square on every half hour every evening (weather permittin
 g) from November 14 â€“ December 31, 2013.Â Â  Eight shows will run ea
 ch night, with the first one at 4:30 pm and final show at 8 pm.Â  Two 
 different seven-minute shows will alternate throughout the evening.\nÂ
  \nFranklin Square is located in Historic Philadelphia at 6th & Race S
 treets.Â  Franklin Square opens daily, 7 days a week, at 10 am, throug
 h December 31.Â  Closing hours vary. Franklin Square is closed Thanksg
 iving Day and Christmas Day. All hours are weather permitting.Check ww
